Catherine has over 40 years’ practice experience, beginning her career in 1977.  Catherine’s practice focuses on the areas of real property law, will and estates, and administrative law. 

Catherine's volunteer involvement has spanned many years with the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society and the Canadian Bar Association. A past President of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society (2007-08) she was the Nova Scotia representative on the Council of the Federation of Law Societies participating at the national level in matters of regulation of the practice of law (2010-2014). In 2004, she was awarded the Barristers’ Society Distinguished Service Award for her volunteer activities.

Catherine has been involved in continuing education as an organizer for over a decade of provincial property conferences for the real estate bar, Chair of the CBA Real Estate Section (Nova Scotia Branch), Director and one of the founding members of the Real Estate Lawyers' Association (RELANS).
