Jane is a partner practicing in the area of Real Property and Wills/Estates.  Jane’s practice primarily focuses on the preparation of Agreements of Purchase and Sale, Commercial Leasing, Migration of parcels to the Land Registry system, transactions of purchase and sale of real property, as well as general Estate Planning and Administration for individuals.  Jane also assists real estate developers navigate the process of entering into Development Agreements with the planning departments of HRM, Truro and Colchester County.  Jane is a registered user of the Land Registry System.

Jane has been the primary property lawyer for both the Municipality of the County of Colchester and the Town of Westville for transactional work as well as migrations and tax sale certifications. She and Ron Creighton, Q.C. completed a complex transaction involving the County of Colchester, Home Hardware Stores Ltd. and Canadian National Railway for the expansion of Home Hardware lands in the Debert Air Industrial Park. 

Jane is a member of the Real Property and Wills and Estates Sections of the Canadian Bar Association (Nova Scotia Branch) and has most recently presented to the Real Estate Lawyers Association of Nova Scotia (RELANS) on recent caselaw in Nova Scotia.  Jane is an active member of her local community including as a Board Member of the Institute for Human Services Education, Member of the Truro Rotary, and as Secretary and Board Member for the Downtown Truro Partnership.

Jane also volunteers her time to speak at a variety of conferences, including the Municipality of the County of Colchester, the NSTU and ELDIS, regarding estate planning and administration. Jane has also authored a number of articles which have been published in the Central Nova Business News, a local Colchester County publication, assisted with the preparation of various articles for presentation at professional conferences and has been featured in our quarterly newsletter publication, "The Patterson Pulse".
