Sarah Emery has a broad civil and commercial litigation practice that includes experience dealing with environmental law, class actions, product liability, food and beverage labelling, and constitutional law.

In her environmental law practice, she has experience in a range of matters, including remediation of contaminated properties, environmental permitting, municipal and hazardous waste management, and extended producer responsibility regimes.

  • Co-counsel to a non-crown corporation responsible for operating certain environmental government programs on negotiations with the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change and on contract negotiations with industry
  • Co-counsel to a major Canadian newspaper on an application for disclosure to the Ontario Judicial Counsel
  • Assisted counsel in representing Celestica Inc. in its successful appeal before the Supreme Court of Canada to uphold the limitation period for bringing a statutory secondary market securities class action. Trustees of the Millwright Regional Council of Ontario Pension Trust Fund v. Celestica Inc. et al.
