Biography

Kelly is completing her articles at Patterson Law’s Halifax office. Kelly has an interest in litigation with a particular interest in estate litigation, insurance defence and subrogation, and family law. Kelly received a Bachelor of Arts with an Honours in Philosophy (Summa Cum Laude) from St. Mary’s University in Halifax, where she was awarded the Saint Mary’s University Mary Ann and Edward J. McBride Law Prize and the Academic Excellence Award for meritorious distinction.  Kelly holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of New Brunswick. While at UNB Law, her academic achievements included the Wayne Carson Scholarship in Law, the Bereskin & Parr Prize, the Stewart McKelvey Scholarship, the Borden Ladner Gervais Professional Award and the New Brunswick Law Foundation Scholarship. Kelly volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada and was a member of the UNB Faculty of Law Prison Law Society and the Feminist Legal Association. Kelly was an Orientation Leader for UNB Law and a peer mentor and actively engaged with the local community, having volunteered with the Fredericton Legal Advice Clinic. In addition to her professional interests, Kelly enjoys trivia, true crime podcasts, working out and being active. Originally from HRM, Kelly is delighted to return home and looks forward to spending time with family and friends.
