Biography
Paul is a litigator and a leader in Patterson Law’s Construction Law Group, and focusses his practice on construction litigation and commercial litigation more generally. Paul has extensive experience preparing and litigating builders’ liens, representing property owners, contractors, and suppliers in disputes that have been valued in the millions of dollars. Paul also regularly assists clients with drafting building and tendering contracts, and represents clients in negotiations with utilities and institutions like universities and colleges.
In addition to construction law, Paul is also a leader in Patterson Law’s Residential Tenancies Law Group, where he helps landlords and tenants with residential tenancy matters by reviewing and drafting leases, and guiding and successfully representing them in disputes, including at Residential Tenancy Board hearings and appeals to both Small Claims Court and the Nova Scotia Supreme Court.
Paul also consistently represents clients in property disputes including right of way claims, as well as commercial and contract disputes at all levels of court in Nova Scotia, including Supreme Court, Small Claims Court, and the Court of Appeal.
