Corporate/Commercial Group Deepens its Team

Associated Areas of law

Patterson Law’s Corporate Commercial group offers clients a customized mix of large-firm infrastructure and benefits with a small-firm service experience. Two lawyers added in August will strengthen the team’s ability to meet unique client needs.

Ben Fairbanks brings 16 years of practice experience in commercial real estate, leasing, and commercial financing. “Our clients will benefit from Ben’s detailed knowledge of municipal development processes,” says Jennifer Hamilton Upham, group head for Patterson Law’s Corporate Commercial team. “He brings an added focus on administrative law and a keen interest in developing an environmental law practice.” Laura Broz is a first year lawyer who brings an enthusiasm and interest in the practice area and a talented set of hands for the very busy Corporate Commercial team.

According to Jennifer, the Corporate Commercial team offers clients an experience that is unique in the market. “We are a larger firm, and clients get all the benefits of that – lots of talent and focused experience to pull from, access to many hands and billing tiers to keep costs reasonable, a rich supply of resources. But they get a small-firm, highly personalized service experience because we have multiple collaborating smaller offices. That means clients don’t feel like they have to fight for priority.”

Ben and Laura will be working from the firm’s Halifax office.

Patterson Law is a Nova Scotia firm with offices in Halifax, Truro and New Glasgow.  Patterson Law offers a broad range of legal resources providing solutions to individuals, companies and organizations in Nova Scotia and beyond.
