Biography

Eryn is a lawyer based out of Patterson’s Truro office. Originally from St. John’s, Newfoundland, Eryn lived all over Canada from East to West before coming to Truro in 2020. Eryn has remained in Truro ever since, having found a thriving community to call home.

Eryn obtained a bachelor’s degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland with a double major in English and French. She also completed her master’s degree in English from Memorial University of Newfoundland, which was paid for with a generous grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. During her studies, Eryn was a student radio host, a student writing advisor, a member of an improv group, and a regular trivia host.

Eryn obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa, graduating with distinction in 2022. Throughout her studies, Eryn participated in and facilitated moots, conferences, and social events. In her final year of law school, Eryn was on the winning team of the Walsh Family Law Moot competition.

In her practice, Eryn promotes interest-based settlement of her clients’ issues wherever possible. Where settlement is not possible, Eryn is a vigorous and tireless advocate for her clients in court.

Outside of work, you can find Eryn hiking, snow shoeing, and paddleboarding around the province. Eryn also enjoys travelling, trivia nights, and catching up on the latest prestige drama with her cats, Captain and Skipper.
