About Us

Our clients come first. It’s been the core value of this firm since Frank Patterson first hung out his shingle in 1928. The members of this firm have always understood that we can only be successful when our clients succeed. That explains why so many of our clients, both business and  personal, have stayed with us through the generations. At Patterson Law these values drive us to continue to evolve our business, develop our own abilities and create better ways to work with clients.

Patterson Law is a Nova Scotia law firm with offices in Halifax, Truro, New Glasgow, and Bridgewater with clients whose interests range from global to purely local.  Our 150+ lawyers and staff are dedicated to meeting your diverse legal needs.  While many of our lawyers have very specialized expertise, we work together to serve our clients and our firm is structured to ensure consistently high standards of advice and service.

Working with Us

Our commitment to our clients is fiercely unwavering. It drives us to continuously evolve our business, deepen our knowledge and further develop our abilities. In today’s world, hiring the biggest doesn’t necessary mean that you are getting the best. Instead, it’s the flexible, responsive and effective firm which, most often, can best meet your needs. Simply staying current in law is no longer good enough. In fact, that’s expected. At Patterson Law, we work to stay one step ahead of our competitors by diversifying our team, maintaining close client relationships and embracing the latest communications and information technology.

Honouring tradition

Patterson Law is the legacy of the business established 90 years ago by Truro’s Frank Patterson. His practice was based on providing solid, straightforward legal advice to clients and that tradition continues today. We like to think that our diverse client base is a direct result of the kind of law firm we have worked carefully and thoughtfully to maintain.

Meeting your needs

Patterson Law is a full-service law firm with offices in Truro, Halifax, New Glasgow, and Bridgewater. Our accomplished team of lawyers is supported by experienced and dedicated staff. Exceeding your expectations

We pride ourselves that our clients – business and individuals – consistently say they get great value from their relationship with our firm. We listen carefully to their concerns, clearly understand their legal issues and then provide the best legal advice. Many of our clients say that it’s our long and distinguished record of success that brought them to our offices, but it’s easy access to our lawyers and fast and effective response to their needs that keeps them here.

Respecting our clients

While at heart we are a Nova Scotia law firm with deep roots in the community, our client list is broad. It includes corporations with global and national reach, along with individuals and business whose interests are purely local. We get to know each of our clients well, so that the legal advice and representation we provide is consistently in their best interest. Our firm has always understood that we can only be successful when our clients succeed. It’s this philosophy that has kept many of our clients, both business and personal, with us over the years.

Diversity
