Matthew G. MacLellan

Biography

Matt’s practice is focused on civil and commercial litigation and criminal defence. He represents individuals and businesses, helping them navigate the challenges and stressors that come with litigation. Matt regularly represents clients in the Nova Scotia Provincial and Supreme Courts, and in small claims matters.

Matt’s professional and academic backgrounds provide a unique perspective and skill set, which he applies every day to his practice. Before attending law school, he earned his MBA from Saint Mary’s University. He also spent five years as a project manager for medical technology research and development, in collaboration with multinational healthcare and imaging corporations.

Matt worked to hone his advocacy skills while a student at the Schulich School of Law. He represented Dalhousie at the Gale Cup, the national criminal law appeal competition, and earned top marks in the Sopinka Trial Advocacy Course. He spent the final term of law school in the Dalhousie Criminal Law Clinic, in a placement with the Nova Scotia Public Prosecution Service.
