Associate Lawyer – Corporate, Tax & Estate Planning (Halifax – Hollis St.)

We are seeking an experienced Associate Lawyer to join our downtown Halifax office.

The successful candidate must have 3-5 years’ experience managing corporate, tax, and estate planning matters.    

The new Associate will proactively manage a high quantity of files with a focus on delivering high quality legal services, both independently and under the direction of more senior legal professionals.  Specifically, they will work closely with a senior practitioner with a goal of transitioning the practice over the next 5-7 years.

Work will include but is not limited to:

  • Corporate Restructuring
  • Mergers and Acquisitions
  • Divestitures and Spin-offs
  • Estate planning and Succession

Qualifications:

  • Must be a member in good standing of a provincial bar and eligible for membership in the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society.
  • 3-5 years of experience handling corporate, tax, estate planning and probate files is required.
  • Must have an eagerness to market and continually grow and develop their practice.
  • Strong communication, advocacy, and dispute resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships and attract new clients.
  • Strong work ethic with a professional and positive attitude in their work.
