Biography

Grace is a civil litigator whose practice focusses on property litigation, as well as commercial litigation, and prison law. Though often working with physical properties or companies, her intention is always to be focussed on the individuals involved. Her interests encompass women’s issues, prisoner’s rights, human rights and elder law.

Since her call to the Bar, Grace has appeared in all levels of court in Nova Scotia as well before administrative tribunals and the Court of Queen’s Bench in New Brunswick.

As a lifetime resident of Truro, Grace spends much of her time in the community volunteering with various organizations. She sits on the Board of the Colchester East Hants Hospital Foundation, is a volunteer at the Truro Free Legal Clinic and does both pro bono and volunteer work with the Canadian Association of Elizabeth Fry Societies. She also gives back to the Schulich School of Law through volunteer work as a judge of second year moots and a mentor to female law students. She teaches an introduction to law course at the Truro Campus of Dalhousie University.

  • Has appeared in the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia, the Provincial Court of Nova Scotia, the Court of Queen’s Bench of New Brunswick, and before the Parole Board, Serious Incident Tribunals, and the Warden’s Board at Nova Institution.
  • Has acted as counsel in property litigation matters, including Quieting of Titles Applications, easement disputes, negligence matters, foreclosures, and property insurance matters.
  • Has acted in municipal law matters, including both litigation matters and policy matters.
  • Has acted for both individuals and companies in various civil disputes.
